One session on health-related physical activity and one on adapted sport. This may be an excellent opportunity for utilization within bilateral agreements with Wingate. APA: An International Road to Inclusion, Symposiu
The symposium addresses all colleagues and students, who professionally deal with the topics special education and/or inclusion in and through sports. It addresses especially to colleagues and students in special education and sports science as well as to teachers in regular, mainstream and special education schools.
The lectures will be projected both in English and German. The building is accessible for wheelchairs. If you need assistance of any kind, please let us know in your registration. We invite applications for a full-time PhD project exploring the relation between cognition and motor proficiency in athletes with intellectual disabilities, employing the cognitive-motor dual task approach. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual (m/f) with an excellent research record and/or interest in studying functional aspects of the human brain in relation to sport proficiency, and/or interest in the field of adapted physical activity.
Offer We offer the PhD candidate a full-time employment (initially for 2 years with a possible 2-year extension given the candidate is positively evaluated), in order to write a doctoral thesis within 4 years, in an intellectually challenging environment. KU Leuven is a research-intensive, internationally oriented university that carries out both fundamental and applied scientific research. It is highly focused on inter- and multidisciplinary research. It provides its students with an academic education that is based on high-quality scientific research. Successful completion of the PhD program will result in a doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences. The candidate will be associated with the doctoral school of Physical Exercise in Health & Disease. You will work in Leuven, an historic, dynamic and lively city located in the heart of Belgium, within 20 minutes from Brussels, the capital of the European Union, and less than two hours from Paris, London and Amsterdam.
